Biography :
Jean-Paul spent his entire career with Paribas, then BNP Paribas. After 20 years in mergers and acquisitions, then private equity at Paribas, where he was responsible for the agri-food and wine sectors, he joined the Executive Board of Klépierre, leading its redeployment into shopping centres between 1998 and 2003. He was Head of Finance and Strategy for BNP Paribas’ French retail banking business from 2003 to 2006, and then a member of the Executive Committee of BNL, which he acquired in 2006, until the end of 2009 (in charge of integration, then COO). Since 2010, he has progressively managed all BNP Paribas banks in emerging countries (Mediterranean Europe), leading a merger in Turkey from 2010 to 2012, the restructuring of Ukrsibbank in Ukraine from 2013 to 2015, two acquisitions in Poland in 2015 and 2017 giving birth to BNP Paribas Polska. Since 2017, he has reorganised the Group’s presence in Africa, selling off all the banks in that continent except Morocco and Algeria.
